IBIZA’S GATES OF HEAVEN

In the 60s and 70s Ibiza was a hippie destination —they mostly flocked to the north of the island. One of the places they chose to share was a cliff near Pla de Corona, an area we mentioned in the previous post for the beauty of its blooming flowers.
The gates of heaven correspond to the area known as Sa Penya Esbarrada, where you can find an incredible viewpoint from which to look out over the north coast of the island, spectacular cliffs and the magic of the Ses Margalides islets. Near the viewpoint, you can discover the archaeological remains of a 12th century Muslim house. If you wish to get closer to the sea, you can always walk to Es Corrals cove.
During the summer months, you can enjoy the sunset over the endless Mediterranean Sea. Next to the viewpoint, there is a restaurant serving Ibizan and Mediterranean cuisine.
