A study published by Nature Climate Change has warned that tourism accounts for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. The global tourism industry must evolve toward a more sustainable model.
The benefits brought to the environment, the economy and local communities through sustainable tourism far outweigh any negative impacts. Some areas of responsibility: protecting the environment, caring for natural resources, providing socioeconomic benefits for residents, preserving cultural heritage, and creating respectful tourism experiences.
Tourism is hugely important in Ibiza’s culture and economy.
